We are proud to share that several of our students recently participated in the Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) Summer School, which lasts for 10 days, organized by the European Space Agency (ESA) and the Joint Research Centre (JCR) in Slovenia.
One of our students collaborated with a diverse team of participants from industry and academia, working on a project idea that addressed the growing need for secure GNSS-based tracking. This team developed "AsGuard," a two-way tracking solution using LEO satellites to independently validate asset locations. Their innovative idea earned 2nd place in a competition among 8 teams, showcasing its potential for real-world applications in the shipping and logistics industry.
Another pair of our students worked on a project focused on a fruit monitoring and harvesting drone, which also gained recognition and secured 3rd place in the competition. Their project highlighted the importance of precision agriculture and the role of GNSS in enhancing food security.
We extend our thanks to ESA, JCR, and the course instructors for arranging these kinds of events.
